About Report-a-Score.com

Report-a-Score was created by HummerSport, LLC, publisher of the popular soccer news and community websites National Soccer Wire and Potomac Soccer Wire. HummerSport's mission is to improve the game of soccer in the United States by using the internet to break down long-standing communications barriers that still plague local soccer associations, clubs, leagues, and tournaments over a decade after the internet revolution began.

Report-a-Score.com is the most recent, and most radical, solution offering by HummerSport. It is the first one that puts nearly 100% of the control of information directly in the hands of the people that know the most - Players, Coaches, Parents, and Referees!

With Report-a-Score, ANYONE with a valid email address can create a free account and start entering or editing match reports, player stats, and field ratings. It is very much a "wiki" for youth, high school, and amateur soccer. The more community members use the system, the more comprehensive and accurate the information will be come. And you'll NEVER have to wait again for a game score to be published online.

Report-a-Score is much more than soccer scores. It's a full match reporting system, team rankings calculator, field directions and ratings directory, player statistics tracker, college recruiting assistant, and soccer-focused social network! Even more, since every game recorded in Report-a-Score can be associated with a league, tournament, and field location, it can easily serve as an unofficial website for teams, leagues, tournaments, and field complexes.

With Report-a-Score, you can:
  • Basic Scores - Get your scores in there, even if all you know is the final score.

  • Collaborate on Detailed Match Reports - Know who scored? Maybe someone else tracked corner kicks? Anyone who has any information from a game can add it to an existing report.

  • Player Stats - Assign players for every goal, primary assist, secondary assist, and save and watch deserving players rise up the charts.

  • Goal Descriptions - Goals are more than a number on a score sheet, they're an art form. Describe each one so it lives forever.

They're all there in one place for reference! Use theses pages as a college recruiting tool, where coaches can see all a player's stats all in one place, then click to read more about the game, goal description, and even view video clips (video clip feature coming fall, 2010).

  • Field Directions and Ratings - Live Google Maps for every venue with an address entered, and the ability for anyone to rate every field. We hope to become not only the most comprehensive resource for soccer field in the USA, but also plan to publish best and worst fields lists in an effort to focus more resources on field quality. You don't have be signed up to rate a field. Just click on the stars anywhere you seen a field listed.

  • Social Network - Anyone can become a "Fan" or "Foe" of any team. How many fans can your team build? How about commenting on the "Wall" of a league or tournament. And you can "Follow" teams, and divisions so you get an email alert whenever someone enters a new match report. Future integration with Facebook in fall 2010 should increase the social nature of our daily soccer lives exponentially.

Even with all the above, and more on the way, the real key to the usefulness of Report-a-Score lies with you, the soccer community. The more you use the website and encourage your soccer friends to do the same, the more valuable the resource will be for everyone on our sport.
