Chris Hummer : Dulles district quarter finals. Briar woods up 1-0 at the half, but Potomac falls pulled even through an Olivia Dohnelek goal direct from a long, deep throw by Keely Dugan. Briar woods pulled one back on a quick counter attack, catching the PF GK out. potomac Falls did not panic until inside of 10 minutes, then threw the kitchen sink at the BW goal in a 3-4-3 formation and Olivia Dohnelek fed a great through ball to Freshmen Sarah Ahart for the tying goal with 6 minutes remaining. Four overtime periods did not settle the contest, but easily could have as BW got in behind the BW defense twice - only to be denied 1v1 by Elon U bound goalkeeper Kate Murphy. PF star Amanda Rumsey put her PK right at the BW Keeper, but Dohnalek, sophomore Nicole Teets, and freshmen Sarah Ahart buried consecutive conversions, while BW put one over the bar and Murphy saved twice to put the Panthers through to the semifinals against defending state champion Broad Run.reply
